He was predeceased by: his parents, Nilon Rush and Ruby Rush; his wife Norma Rush; and his brother Jerrell Rush. He is survived by: his sons, Elbert "Sonny" Rush (Connie) of Beaverton and Dennis Rush of Flint, Mich.; his grandchildren, Chris Rush, Melissa Beadia (Derek) and Autumn Bishop (Shannon); and his brother Jerome Rush (Margaret) of Union. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
