He was predeceased by: his wife Hazel Jeanette Matthews; and his parents, Wilson Matthews and Kathleen Matthews. He is survived by: his daughters, Genia Phillips (Terry), Crystal Fries (Jim) and Karla Everett (Steve); his grandchildren, Tommy Fries, Rebecca Chisholm, Alex Sanderson, Christopher Fries, Joseph Phillips, Hannah Fries, Brody Parkes and Ty Everett; and his brother Vel Matthews (Brenda). He is also survived by three great grandsons.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Montrose Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
