He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nester and Annette Nester; his former wife Pattie Nester; and his stepson Anthony Crofford. He is survived by: his wife Sue Nester; his stepdaughter Amy Walker (Shawn) of Brandon, MS; his stepdaughters-in-law, Paula Crofford of Pearl, MS, Victoria Carr (Adam), Elizabeth, Courtney Coulter of Brandon, Hunter and Julianna Crofford of Carthage, MS; his great grandchild Raeleigh Madison Carr of Brandon, MS; and his siblings, James Ray Nester (Judy) of Dallas, TX and Martha Sue Kirkland of Dekalb. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and friends.

His leadership skills shined throughout his life and those contributions to his beloved Kemper County.
