It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Lanell Fairburn (Tylertown, Mississippi), who passed away on September 24, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Thornhill and Thomas Thornhill; her husband Van Fairburn Sr.; her son Van Fairburn Jr.; and her siblings, Lee W. "Webb" Thornhill Sr., James Milton Thornhill, Irene Hill, Abbie Cruise and Ouida Rayborn.
She is survived by: her children, Victor Fairburn (Karen) of McComb, MS, Mattie Smith (Winston) of Buford, GA and Mary Turner (Jerry) of Tylertown, MS; her grandchildren, Craig Fairburn (Kristy), Stephanie Rainey (Samuel) of Franklin, TN and Matthew Fairburn (Lauren) of Madison, MS.; her great grandchildren, Stevan Fairburn, Andrew Fairburn, Megan Fairburn, Kellen Fairburn, Kate Fairburn, MacLane Fairburn, Peterson Rainey, Gabby Rainey, Nathan Rainey, Max Rainey, Chad Seals, Eli Smith, Taylor and Kolten Magee; and her sister Pat Gartman of Tylertown, MS..
