He was predeceased by: his parents, James Fletcher Slaven and Myra Gertrude Brooks Slaven; and his siblings, J. D. Slaven, John Henry Slaven, Glendora White, Dora Lee Slaven and Diane Slaven.
He is survived by: his children, Gail Slaven, Joe Slaven, Jr. and Jason Slaven; his grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Jayden, Nathen, Sky, Jeremy and Lason Slaven; his great grandchild Liam Slaven; and his brother Jim Slaven.
