With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hilda M. Blackwell (Tylertown, Mississippi), born in Jayess, Mississippi, who passed away on December 10, 2019 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Hilda M. Blackwell to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ada Martin and Enoch Martin; and her siblings, Edna King, Paul Martin, Reverend Lamar Martin and Carl Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Reverend Joseph Blackwell; her daughters, Sharon Johnston (Vic), Wanda Plunkett (Hugh), Anita Jo Wright (Ray) and Susan "Scooter" Ellis (Robert); her brother Reverend Glenn Martin (Pat); and her sister-in-law Bonita Martin. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Mission:Dignity, a ministry of GuideStone Financial Resources that provides financial assistance to retired Southern Baptist pastors or their widows living on low incomes.
