He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Wood and Inez Zeringue Wood; his son Jimmy Gerald Wood; and his sisters, Evelyn Smith, Elouise Dykes and Mickey Stringer.
He is survived by: his wife Nithea L. VanDan Wood; his children, Alan D Wood and Tammy L. Baughman (Wayne); his grandchildren, Kayla Pellegrin (Travis), Wesley Wood (Taylor), Brittany Baughman and Christopher Baughman; and his great grandchildren, Rhett Wood, Tanner Criswell, Baeleigh Temple, Kadiance Wood and Tayson Pellegrin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Capps Funeral Home (270 Old Hwy 98 E, Tylertown, MS 39667). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 11:40 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wood Cemetery (13 Mt Moriah Rd, Tylertown, MS 39667).
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Pinebelt Foundation for the Wood Cemetery.
