He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley D'Angelo Blackwell; his son Brian "Rusty" Blackwell; his parents, Willie Blackwell and Carrie Faye Blackwell; and his siblings, Raymond, Randy Blackwell and Eleanor Johnson.
He is survived by: his son Chad Blackwell (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Matthew Blackwell (Danielle), Alana Day (Ben), Hannah Blackwell and Landon Blackwell; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Addison, Jackson Blackwell, Ezekiel, Levi and Malachi Day; his sister Marilyn Smith (Derrick); and his siblings-in-law, Claire Black and Joseph D'Angelo Jr. (Rose). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM. A graveside service was held on Sunday, January 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the New Zion Cemetery (2 New Zion Rd, Tylertown, MS 39667).
