He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Fortenberry and Buey Fortenberry; his wife Hilda Fortenberry; his brother John Spivey; and his niece Sharon Burke.
He is survived by: his children, Emmie Pulliam, Vickie Brown, Anthony Fortenberry (Gina) and Richard Fortenberry. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great-granndchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends.
