Richard Ellis Obituary

The memory of Richard Ellis of Tupelo, Mississippi, who passed away on January 13, 2025 at the age of 79, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ormand Ellis and Maylor McCann Ellis; and his sister-in-law Carol Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Brooks Ellis of Tupelo; his children, Brian Ellis of Memphis, Rachel Mason Wiygul (Jeff) of Tupelo, Betsy Ellis Ward (Blake) of Madison and Maggie Mason Giles (Rob) of Caledonia; his grandchildren, Alison Lynn Cauthen (Gage), Jeffrey Wiygul, Brooks Kenney, Jackson Kenney, Caleb Giles, Conner Ward, Walker Ward, Caroline Giles and Finley Ellis; his sister Linda Ellis Sanders (Tommy); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Marett (Larry) and Jim Brooks (Amy).

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Luke United Methodist Church (1400 Clayton Ave, Tupelo, MS 38804). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the St. Luke Food Pantry.
