Jonathan Powell Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jonathan Powell (Tupelo, Mississippi), who passed away on April 10, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Claude and Maude Mae Brazeal Powell. He is survived by: his former wife Phyllis Copley; his daughter Melissa Powell (Lisa); his grandson Michael Powell; his close friend Carrie Storey Thompson; his wife Carrie Powell of Tupelo; his children, Lisa Powell and Sean Powell (Christina) of Royce City, TX; his stepdaughter Pam Blassingame (Morgan) of Tupelo; his stepgrandsons, Daniel, Alex Blassingame of Tupelo and Chance Swift of Royce City, TX; his granddaughters, Kira Jane Powell and Tira Gail Powell of Royce City, TX; and his brother Fred C. Powell of Tupelo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

While at Camp Darby he served as Vice President of the Protestant Men of the chapel, a charity organization that provided aid to Italian children and needy people.
