He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard M. Gaines and Emily L. Parchman Gaines; and his siblings, James Gaines, Billy Gaines, Waymon Gaines, Milton Gaines, Shirley Mauldin, Doris Causey and Nadine Clardy.
He is survived by: his pet Bear; and his siblings, Larry Gaines (Mary) of Odenville, AL, Richard Gaines (Marilyn) of Pulaski, TN and Lois Seymore (Robert) of Shannon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
