The passing of Hoppy Whitaker Jr. (Tupelo, Mississippi) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on January 10, 2025 at the age of 77. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though Hoppy may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Hoppy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Taylor Whitaker; and his parents, Rebecca Yow Coffey and Rupert William Whitaker, Sr.. He is survived by: his daughter Stephenie Whitaker; his son-in-law Zachary "Zach" Fortune of St. Louis, Missouri; and his sister Barbara Mullins of Greensboro, NC..

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM at the First Baptist Church- Tupelo (300 N Church St, Tupelo, MS 38801). A prayer will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 4:45 PM at the First Baptist Church (300 N Church St, Tupelo, MS 38801). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Romie's Grocery (804 W Jackson St, Tupelo, MS 38804).
