He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Murphy Thomas Washburn (Gina) of Jackson and Emily Ann Wildeman (Martin) of Spartanburg; his grandsons, Jesse (Audrey), Thomas (Mary Katherine), Murphy and Wilson (Theresa); his great grandchildren, Heywood, Ellie and Colin; his nieces and nephews, Meg, Julie, Jimmy, Winkie, Jess, Jordan, Fulton, Susan and James Murphy; his son Jesse Heywood Washburn III; and his siblings, Margaret Randle and Jordan Washburn.
