It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deacon John A. Johnson Sr. of Tupelo, Mississippi, who passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Deacon John is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Deacon John's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He is survived by: his wife Lue Jean Johnson (Buchanan); and his children, Patrenia Miller (Pastor Reggie Miller), Andrew Johnson Nedra (Amelia), John Johnson Jr. (Nikita), Toddrick Johnson (Laura) and Candice Ivy (Sheron). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grayson-Porter's Mortuary (401 N Spring St, Tupelo, MS 38802). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church (2219 Dorsey Evergreen Rd, Fulton, MS 38843).
