She was predeceased by: her husband Marvin Nickels; her parents, A. D. Shaw (John) and Idella B. Worthy Shaw; her son Dedric Arthur Nickels; and her grandson Preston Nickels.
She is survived by: her sons, Jerry Nickels (Diana) of Senatobia, MS and Vick Nickels (Betty) of Starkville, MS; her brother Macon Shaw of San Antonio, TX; and her grandchildren, Gray Nickels, Brian Nickels, Lynn Savage, Shaw Nickels, Joseph Nickels, Anna Lauren Gunn and Ty Nickels. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Tunica or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
