He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lunsford Hayne Darby. He is survived by: his sons, Benjamin III and Matthews III; his wife Colette of Tumbling Shoals, AR; his grandchildren, Baron Matthews (Kacey) of Madison, MS, Suzette Matthews (Matty Bengloff) of Cleveland, MS, Mary Darby Jackson (Clark Jackson) of Ridgeland, MS and Grace Matthews of Oxford, MS.; his great grandchildren, Benjamin Marshall Matthews, Charlotte Colette Matthews and Charlie Baron Matthews; his siblings, Joe Matthews (Helen) of Rock Hill, SC., Mary Don Koonce and John; and also, John Matthews (Andrea) of Sarasota, FL and Hayne Matthews of Tunica. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
