He was predeceased by: his parents, James Coleman Gortney and Eula Vee Bryant; and his wife Wanda Gortney. He is survived by: his daughter Glenda Duranceau (Troy); his stepdaughters, Angie Whitehurst and Kim Puckett; and his grandchildren, Morgan Benefield (David), Samantha Carithers (Jason), Mckenzie Stroud (Channing), Riley Budny, Blaine Bailey and Reese Whitehurst. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
