He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Butler and Ruby McCormick Butler; his grandson Nathan Wadkins; his great grandchild Nate Ellis; and his siblings, Malcolm Butler, Dorothy King, Betty Whitehead and Carolyn Fisher.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Butler; his children, Terry Butler (Shirley) and Tammie Wadkins (Jeff); his sister Mary Ellen Johnson; and his grandchildren, Cathia McNatt (Wesley), Chaylee Moore (Cole), Rumae Stroup (Ty), Brady Butler (Lexi), Chanda Ellis (Phil) and Tabitha Wadkins (Matt). He is also survived by 15 great-grandhchildren.
Memorials may be made to Paden Baptist Church or Allen Line Cemetery Fund.
