He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Leonard and Clemmie Sims; and his brothers, J. L. Sims, Robert Sims, Jack Sims, Joe Sims and Tommy Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Sims; his sons, Perry Sims (Judy) and Kerry Sims (Debbie); his sister Sammie Nell Gill; his sister-in-law Mae Sims; his grandchildren, Corey Sims (Tamara), Jamey Sims, Jeremy Sims, Eric Sims and Andrew Sims (Brooks); and his great grandchildren, Kylie, Kelsey and Blake Sims.
