He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Cossitt and Alberta Brumley Cossitt; and his siblings, Allen Cossitt, Billy Cossitt, Luther Cossitt, Tom Cossitt, Beatrice Rowland and Katherine LaBarreare.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith Cossitt; his children, Charles Ray Cossitt, Larry Gene Cossitt (Jamie) of Tiplersville and Lynn Cossitt Gunter (Jim) of Ripley, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Andy Gunter, Will Gunter and Jessie Elizabeth Cossitt; his sisters, Trudy Hamilton of Ripley and Kay Graves of Ripley; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Cossitt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
