With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Waldrop Garrett (Thaxton, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 19, 2025 at the age of 85. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Betty Waldrop leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Preston Waldrop and Idell Smith Waldrop. She is survived by: her husband Dexter Garrett; her son Ray Garrett (Marcia); and her grandchildren, Victoria and Alexander.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thaxton Baptist Church (10507 MS-336, Thaxton, MS 38871). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
