She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Jernigan and Lucille Jernigan; her husband David Newton Hester; her sister Rachel Clark; her nephew Willy Hall, Jr.; and her nieces, Rhonda Hall and Kimberly Yates.
She is survived by: her children, Angie White (Tim) and David Hester, Jr.; her granddaughter Jill Burge (Jake); her great grandchildren, Nora Grace and Andi Kate Burge; and her siblings, Helen Simpson, Mattie Knight, Charlotte Mabry (Craig) and Bobby Jernigan.
