He is survived by: his children, Nicole Gilpin (Lee), Patton Womble and Bobby Winchester; his grandchildren, Anna Marie Gilpin, Zane Thomas Gilpin, Dalton Asher Womble, Devon Wright Womble and Britton McKinley Womble; and his sisters, Frankie Jernigan Robertson, Shari Jernigan and Patsy Womble Hadaway. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
