It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hubert Durwood Owens (Taylor, Mississippi), born in Fayette, Alabama, who passed away on May 22, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alonzo Jefferson Owens and Georgia Anne Owens; his brothers, George Lee Owens and Lon J. Owens; his wife Donna; and his sister Loretta Owens of Oxford.

He was a victim of Alzheimer's disease and had gradually declined over the past three years, but thankfully remained physically active until the last three weeks of his life.
