With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lita Matheny of Sumrall, Mississippi, who passed away on October 12, 2023 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Jim" Matheny and Edna Southerland; her siblings, Marilyn Carter and Gene Matheny; and her stepmother Ann Matheny.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Matheny of Sumrall, MS; her children, Leland Matheny of Sumrall, MS, Jan Pittman of Sumrall, MS and Wilene Wallace of Sumrall, MS; her siblings, Kathy Jo Whitehead of Bassfield, MS and Farold Guilbeau of Ellisville, MS; and her stepsiblings, Patsy Mooney of Seminary, MS, Sherry McRaney of Sumrall, MS, Tammy Davis (Jerry) of Sumrall, MS and Billy Quick of Sumrall, MS. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
