He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Powell and Ada Powell of Baxterville; his siblings, Kathryn Anderson, Willie Rayborn, Hinton Powell and Roy Powell; and his great grandchild Dallas Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Woodard Powell of Sumrall; his children, Jackie Jones (Roger) of Seminary, Reba Coulter (Rick) of Columbia, Debra Lucus (Donald "Pop") of Sumrall, James "Bo" Powell of Sumrall, Richard Powell (Charis) of Lumberton, Robert "Bob" Powell (Christi) of Mt. Olive, Earnest "Frog" Powell (Wanda) of Columbia, Hubert Powell of Sumrall and Doyle Powell of Sumrall; his adoptive son Daniel Parente (Tammy) of Columbia; and his siblings, Ada Smith (Gary) of Alabama, Billy Powell (Rita) of Lumberton and Quitman Powell (Shannon) of Lumberton. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Community Baptist Church (37 Oloh Rd, Sumrall, MS 39482). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
