He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jacquelyn Claire Perry and George Ray Ely; his spouse Terry Brown; his children, Rebecca Jensen (Jason) and Steve Ely (Erin); his grandchildren, Riley, Emma and Jake; and his brother Ross Ely (Mamae). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the McComb City Railroad Museum P.O. Box 7220 McComb, Mississippi 39649.
