She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Bates and Janice Fortenberry Bates; and her partner Lil'Red. She is survived by: her husband Rickey Lee Coney of Summit; her daughters, Celeste Coney Westmoreland (Jason) of Magnolia and Jennifer Coney Evans (Matthew) of McComb, MS; and her grandchildren, Trenton Westmoreland, Jacob Westmoreland, Annistyn Evans, Daniel Westmoreland, Brynleigh Evans and Dachshund Rusty. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and many close friends.
