He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Cartwright and Catherine Cartwright (House); his brother Mike Cartwright (Belinda); his sister-in-law Clydia Cartwright; his nieces and nephews, Kim Cartwright Lofton and Ken Cartwright; his great grandchild Samuel Wooten; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Forrest.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Cartwright; his children, Kelly Cartwright, Angela Rippy (John) and Kai Cartwright (Alex); his grandchildren, David Smith (Mandy), Ashley Dunaway (Brandon), Jessy Loren Moody (Bryce), Chance Lacking (Laura Dixon), Jayden Lacking, Tripp Cartwright, Ava Cartwright, Rheyan Cartwright and Conner Cartwright; his great grandchildren, Raliegh, Hayleigh Meadows, Levi Smith, Daylan Fields, Addilyn Kate Walley and Jesse Waylon Lacking; his brothers, Leroy Cartwright, Paul Cartwright (Myrtle) and Lonnie Heathcock; and his siblings-in-law, Danny Forrest (Shelia) and Virginia Strahan (George). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
