He was predeceased by: his wife Vondee Manasco Carey; his parents, Leo Carey Myrick and Floyd Carey; and his sisters, Mary Elizabeth "Prissy" Sellers (Clyde) and Pat Kruse (Ted).
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Carey (William Harmon) of Greenville, MS, Tom Carey, Jr. (Delecia) of Maurice, LA, Chris Carey (Kayce) of Newton, AL and Ellen Carey of Lafayette, LA; his grandson Ben Carey (Alex) of San Diego, CA; and his children, Floyd Carey of Hilliard, OH, Margaret, Matthew Carey of Maurice, LA, McKenna, Madelyn, Will Carey of Newton, AL, Mare Gibbs (Jake) of Memphis, TN and Mollie Witherspoon (Joseph) of Hernando, MS. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close cousins.
