He was predeceased by: his former wife Kathrine Boyd Alexander; his wife Myrtle Alexander; his daughter Kathy Olivier; and his siblings, Junior Alexander, Carl Alexander, Lucius Alexander and Wilma Dunaway.
He is survived by: his son Daniel "Marty" Alexander, Jr. of Summit; his children-in-law, Lesa Cook and Nolan Olivier; and his grandchildren, Justin Olivier, Amanda Millaudon (David) and Daniel "Mark" Alexander, III (Lindsey). He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
