We are sad to announce that on May 15, 2022, at the age of 88, Artress Holmes of Summit, Mississippi, born in McComb, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George McDaniel and Bertie Travis McDaniel; her former husband James E. Thornton; her husband Bennie Holmes; her siblings, Vera McDaniel Smith, Eva Nell McDaniel Miller, Thomas Alton McDaniel, Richard "Dick" McDaniel and Jimmie Doyle McDaniel; and her sons, James Glenn Thornton and Jeffery Lamar Thornton.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Thornton (Kay), Gerald Thornton and Bonnie. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
