It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Scarbrough Ray of Sturgis, Mississippi, born in Ocala, Florida, who passed away on February 6, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Scarbrough and Lodean Scarbrough; her husband Elbert M. Ray, Sr.; her daughter Julie Dean Ray; her granddaughter Madison Grace Craig; her son-in-law Larry N. Rose; and her siblings, Sylvia Jean, Johnny G. Scarbrough, Wiley S. Scarbrough and Sally S. Oglesby.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Rose, Mona Craig, Elbert M. Ray, Jr. (Lori), Monroe of Georgia and Danny G. Ray (Jennie); her brothers, Billy D. Scarbrough (Jean) of Starkville and Charles Scarbrough (Diane) of Starkville; her siblings-in-law, Sandra Scarbrough, Pat Scarbrough, Lavern Oglesby and Buddy Ray (Barbara); her grandchildren, Emily Rose Blaine (Alan), Alan Miller (Beverley), Missy Ray Bell (Heath), Daniel Ray (Crystal), Ashley Hobbs (Ray), Drew Ray, Heath Ray (Lexi), Stephanie Lange (Chris), Andrew Ray (Haley) and Eli Ray; her great grandchildren, Olivia Blaine, Raegan, Kaige, Lexi Miller, Mayce Villanueva (Roberto), Carley, Treylan Bell, Cole, Piper, Collins Ray, Carter, Berkley Hobbs, Denley Ray, Allysa, Avery Ray, Cohen, Colbi Lange, Willow Ray and Jesse Hanna; and her great great grandchild Aspen James Villanueva. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
