He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertie Aldridge Wingo Smith and Frank Smith; his daughter Randie Ellen Smith O'Shaughnessey; and his siblings, Jimmy Smith, Owen Smith, Fred Smith, Lonnie Smith, Herman Wingo, Avery Lee "Buster" Wingo, Mae Smith, Bessie Lee Smith, Mattie Lee Smith Stevenson, Gertrude Wingo Sartor and Clytee Wingo Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Virginia Smith; his children, Rodney Allen Smith (Mary Lou) of Paris, Cathy Smith Fields (Wesley) of Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico and Donna S. Smith of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Vickie Smith Slayton of Eustis, Seamus O'Shaughnessey (Katerina) of Phoenix, Shannon Jennings (Roger) of Ethel, Jason Smith (Christy) of Waco, Philippa Jean, Chuck Eason (Joanna) of Omaha and Erika Juno (John) of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
