He was predeceased by: his wife Modena Esdell Strickland; his children, Shon Heath Strickland and Chana Strickland; and his parents, Howard Lamar and Jessa Lee Strickland.
He is survived by: his sons, David Strickland (Lesley) of Leakesville and Randy Strickland (Rosemary) of State Line; his grandchildren, April Mizell (Jonathan), Shelia Brown (Clint), Ashley Strickland, Payton Farmer (John), Dalton Strickland, Emily Dees (Chris), Cherokee Strickland and Randy "Jay" Strickland; his great grandchildren, Michael Mizell, Emery Strickland, Walt Brown, Caroline Brown and Clara Grace Farmer; and his siblings, Jerry Strickland (Mesha), Vongia Fountian (Mike) and Earnestine Moore. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
