He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Thornton and Della Hare Thornton; and his siblings, Gene Thornton, Frank Thornton, Lillian Webb and Rosetta Dearmon.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Thornton; his children, Joe Thornton and Susie Thornton; his grandchildren, Tamara Richardson (Kyle), Shanda Thornton, Cody Thornton, Jody Thornton (Lauren), Morgana Coleman and Meaghan Coleman; his great grandchildren, Alec, Sophie, Zoe, Kip, Lucas, Brody, Karleigh, Ryder, Kolt, Presley Jane and Adalyn; and his siblings, Gladys Delk (Tommy), Brenda Crager (Larry), Marie Hall (Roger), Glen Thornton (Pam) and Phyliss Thornton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
