She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Smith and Maggie Smith; her husband Jimmy "Jiggs" Gardner; her daughters, Opal Cartwright and Linda Strickland; her grandson Jamie Gardner; her great grandchild Alyssa Gardner; and her siblings, Alice Smith, Dorothy Trimble, Mack Smith, Paul Smith and George Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Sara Strickland of State Line, MS, Helen Iddings (Johnny) of State Line, MS, Dale Gardner (Debbie) of Millry, AL, Jimmy Gardner (Patricia) of State Line, MS and Calvin Gardner (Beverly) of State Line, MS; and her siblings, Walter Smith, Jr. of Semmes, AL, Raymond Smith of Chatom, AL, Louise Loper of Chatom, AL and Bernice Hogan of State Line, MS. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren.
