He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Payne, Sr. and Louise Howard; and his stepfather B. E. Howard. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Payne; his daughter Amy Slane (Wayne); his granddaughter Emily Putt; and his sister Cindy Young (Mark). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
