We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2023, at the age of 75, Shirley A. James Hanshaw (Starkville, Mississippi) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her former husband Larry G. Hanshaw; her children, Nneka T. Breaux and Okera S. Hanshaw; her siblings, Robert W. James, John A. James (Sharon) of Detroit, MI, Sandra C. James of Atlanta, GA and Louis E. James (Pamela) of Chicago, IL.; and her grandchildren, Nia Breaux, Ibrahim Breaux, Ayo Breaux, Ana Villavasso, Sara Villavasso, Rachel Villavasso and Imani Hanshaw. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
