He is survived by: his daughters, Vanna Martin of Starkville, MS and Gail Martin of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Eric McCarter, Nigel McCarter, Chloe Vassar, Azaria McCarter, Christin Ford, Tyson Martin and Graysen Brooks; his great grandchildren, Hamarian Evans, Ava Macon, Elijah Moore, Ethyn McCarter and Erion McCarter; his siblings, Cora Mae Jones, Betty Thompson, Jerlene Thompson, Dorothy Warren (Melvin), Patricia Vernon (James), Debra Taylor (Terrance), James Thompson and Charles Thompson; and his close friend Brenda Rucker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
