He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kilby Thames; his sons, James Hardy Thames, Jr. (Katherine) of Gulfport and Jonathan Plez Tyler Thames (Allison) of Starkville; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Thames, Mary Thames, Simon Thames and James Bush. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
