He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Wesley "Jim" and Julia Cook Dodd; his caregiver Sarah; his wife Sarah Johnson; his close friend Sylvia Love; his son Donnie Dodd; his grandson Calvin Davie; his siblings, Albert Dodd (Doris) of Ft Walton Beach, Helen Pruitt of Aberdeen and Edna Kendall (Jack) of Huntsville; and his nephew Dale Pruitt of Aberdeen, Mississippi..
He is survived by: his friend Molly Halbert; his daughter Sarah Rebekah; his friend Dr. Frank Ingels; his children, Becky Davie (Jim) of Fall City and David Dodd (Debbie) of Huntsville; his grandchildren, Johnny Dodd, Lauren Kate Dodd, Lilly Davie Ralstin (Rob), Jane Davie and Bella Davie; his nieces and nephews, Margaret Taylor (Lex) of Louisville, JJ Shoemake (Jason) of Huntsville, Wayne Pruitt of Aberdeen, Lamar Pruitt (Tiffany) of Aberdeen, Wes Dodd (Elaine) of Madison and Wes Kendall (Suzanne) of Huntsville; and his great grandchildren, Stevie, Quinn Ralstin and Jack Ralstin. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
