He was predeceased by: his mother Lurline Josey (Merritt); his wife Patricia Thrasher Josey (Pat) of Starkville; his father William "Dink" Josey; and his grandson John Lee "Little John" McLean, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Hope Stanley (Russell) of Madison, AL, Renee J. Palmer (Brian) of Madison, AL and Lisa J. Fondren (Sidney) of Starkville, MS; his grandchild Jerry L. Josey, Jr. (Jay); and his siblings, Mary Lynn Davis of Modoc, S. C., Carolyn Lewis of Picayune, MS, Anna Bates of Richland and Mike Josey (Melinda) of Montpelier, MS.. He is also survived by six grandsons, four granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Welch Funeral Home (201 W Lampkin St, Starkville, MS 39759). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
