He is survived by: his daughter Brenda Akins (Walter) of Starkville, MS; his nieces, Janice Newsome, Sandra Beal (Jerome) and Roberta Turner; his nephew Eddie Turner Jr. (Lexann) of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Stephanie Hendrix (Tommy), Deon Baker, Jermaine Snell Kelsye Akins (Ebonee) and Kasey Akins; and his sisters-in-law, Sara Smith of Starkville, MS and Sadie Miller of Starkville, MS. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
