With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Jefferson Box Jr. (Starkville, Mississippi), who passed away on January 3, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Box, Sr. and Sue Perrigin Box; his siblings, Michael Box, Sr. (Sylvia) and Candace Box; and his brothers-in-law, Michael "Red" Malone and Darrell McKenzie.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Box; his children, Charles Jefferson and Alisha Box Bennett (Grady); his grandchildren, Aerith Box and Jameson Bennett; his sisters, Cindy Box Malone of Sturgis, MS and Jo Charlice Box McKenzie; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Box, Jr. (Alicia) of Mathiston, MS, Vincent McKenzie (Sara) of Sheridan, WY, Christy Jane Box Windsor (David) of Richmond, TX, Rachel McKenzie of Ridgeland, MS and Nikki Malone of Sturgis, MS.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (106 E Lampkin St, Starkville, MS 39759). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Gideons International, Starkville Gideon Camp, P. O. Box 669, Starkville, MS 39760 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
