She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Nowell and Inez Nowell (Chambers) of Starkville, Miss.. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Walton; her sons, Jay Walton (Stephanie) of Nashville, Tenn and Reverend Jeff Walton (Laura) of Wiggins, Miss.; and her grandchildren, Cristina (Malik), Shaheed, Ruby Walton, Aniya Walton, Willie Walton, Riley Walton and Eli Walton. She is also survived by mother and loving "Granny" to her family.
