Dewey Edward Ray Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dewey Edward Ray of Southaven, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 3, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dewey Edward Ray to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harper Ray, Sr. and Bertie L. Haynes Ray; his wife Jackie Ray; his daughter Christy Ray Wilson; his granddaughter Josie Bowles; and his siblings, John H. Ray Jr., William Troy Ray, Leonard I. Ray, Aline Moore, Ollie Mae Umfress and Alpha L. Mosley.
He is survived by: his children, Gary A. Ray (Butch) of Brooks, GA, Charles E. Ray (Chuck) of Horn Lake, MS and Rebecca R. Lantrip (Becky) of Lake Cormorant, MS; his grandchildren, Amanda Bowles, Amy Clarkson, Josh Wilson, Kayla Long, Amber McCormick, Aubree Canton, Austin Ray, Houston Lantrip, Dustin Lantrip, Savanah Lantrip, Dillon Lantrip and Breanna Lantrip; and his great grandchildren, Easton Bowles, Jax Bowles, Hawk Bowles, Izzy Bowles, Karleigh Clarkson, Lane Clarkson, Jackie Clarkson, MJ Long, Anniston Ray McCormick, Maverick McCormick, Charlee Ray Canton, Creed Canton and Sophia Hetts. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Twin Oaks Memorial Garden & Funeral Home (290 Goodman Rd E, Southaven, MS 38671). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
