He is survived by: his children, Robert Bates (Cyndie) of Soso and Lottie Tucker (Mark) of Laurel; his siblings, Dorothy Holifield of Laurel, Helen Stephens of Heidelberg, Willie Grace Reynolds of Pensacola, FL and Paul Bates of Pearl; his significant other Carolyn Clark; his grandchildren, Steven Parker, Daniel Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Mary Beth Bates and John Roberts Bates; and his great grandchildren, Blake Parker, Noah Tucker, Maggie Tucker, Katie Tucker and Trace Tucker.
