She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Floyd Merchant and Hester Martin Merchant; her husband Jimmy Thompson; and her siblings, Bill Merchant, Joe Merchant, Doug Merchant, Mattie Dunaway and Joyce McRaney.
She is survived by: her children, Leisa Adcock of Baton Rouge, LA and Adam Thompson of Soso; her granddaughter Emily Adcock of Baton Rouge, LA; her stepchildren, Ronny Thompson (Darlene) of Collins, Jody Thompson (Janet) of Hattiesburg and Regina Thompson-Hinkeldey (Jeff) of Papillion, NE; and her siblings, Bruce Merchant (Freida) of Soso and Mary Merchant Hartfield of Hattiesburg. She is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren.
